The West Union Eagles golf team had a good season in 2004. They are a high
school Team at the West Union School in Union County, Mississippi just west of New Albany.
Under the direction of coach Ray Kennedy they had a regular season record of eight
wins and only two losses. They won the district 1A championship at Oxford in the latter part of April. This
was an eighteen hole matched play event. Chanc had an 81 and was the medalist winner of the event. Five different
school Teams Participated in the event.
The State Championship was played in early May at Natchez, Mississippi with a practice
day on the 4th. The tournament was a two day 36 hole matched play event on the 5th and 6th. The Eagles won the event by nine
strokes over the 2nd place Natchez Cathedrals. Check out the thumbnails below and see some action shots.
